The Guaranteed Outcome offers both capital growth and income guarantees. You can choose either options in isolation or as a combination. You can also elect to receive a monthly guaranteed income and/or receive guaranteed investment returns at maturity.
The benefit of this investment vehicle is that it provides certainty regarding the maturity value of your investment and, as added incentive, there are noticeable tax-related benefits.
What is a Guaranteed Outcome Plan?
This product is a single premium linked endowment policy providing a guaranteed maturity value after five years. It is underwritten by African Unity Life Limited (FSP No. 8447), and administered by Absa Investment Management Services (FSP No. 524). Both of these are registered financial services providers.
What can Guaranteed Outcome Plan do for you?
It provides you with an opportunity to grow your capital in a way that offers greater returns than normal savings accounts, thereby helping you combat the impact of inflation on your future earnings.
What does a Guaranteed Outcome Plan cost?
Minimal fees apply to the Guaranteed Outcomes investment vehicle. In addition to the below information, we encourage you to refer to the Absa Guaranteed Investment Plan for Individuals and Trusts application form for details relating to documentation required, product account details, timing standards and product terms and conditions.
Minimum lump sum investment over a minimum of 5 years = R150 000
The Guaranteed Capital product is subject to a commission fee of up to 3% plus VAT.
The Guaranteed Income product is subject to a commission fee of up to 1.5% plus VAT.
In terms of current tax legislation, proceeds from this policy are received free of Income and Capital Gains Tax in the hands of the investor, either on withdrawal or maturity.
However, the insurer will pay tax on the growth of the investment period and the rate/maturity value quoted to the investor is net of this.
